Reliance Industries in talks to acquire Milkbasket, Zivame, Urban Ladder and Netmeds

India’s richest man MrMukesh Ambani is now become the world’s seventh-richest person. Ambani’s net worth is valued at $78.3 billion, while Musk was sixth with a marginally high net worth of $78.6 billion. Buffett climbed back the ranks and is currently the fifth-richest with a net worth of $79.5 billion, according to Forbes Real Time Billionaires List.

During 43rd Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries Limited, Mr. Mukesh Ambani said “Reliance will work with other Indian companies, including start-ups, to vigorously promote “Made-in-India”, “Made-for-India” and “Made-for-the-World” products.”

Mukesh Ambani and his company Reliance Industries have invested in startups like Embibe, Grab, Haptik, Tesseract, Reverie, Saavn, Fynd, Nowfloats.

According to various sources, Mukesh Ambani goes on a shopping spree. He is all set to add various Startups like Urban Ladder, Milkbasket, Netmeds and Zivame in his Shopping cart.

Urban Ladder is a Bangalore-based online furniture company. The Startup was founded in 2012 by Mr. Ashish Goel and Mr. Rajiv Srivatsa. Urban Ladder has raised a total of $114.9M till date. SAIF Partners, Kalaari Capitals, Sequoia Capital India, Trifecta Capital, Steadview Capital are the Investors, who have invested in Urban Ladder.

Milkbasket, a Gurugram-based micro-delivery startup by Anant Goel, Anurag Jain, Ashish Goel, Ekwe Chiwundu Charles, Yatish Talavdia. The Startup was founded in 2014 & till date they’ve raised a total of $38.5M in funding round. Kalaari Capital, InnoVen Capital, Ankur Capital, Inflection Point Ventures, Mayfield Fund, Blume Ventures, Lenovo Capital and Incubator Group (LCIG) and Unilever Ventures have invested in Milkbasket.

Netmeds, a Chennai based online pharmacy / E-Pharmacy Startup founded in 2010. Mr. Pradeep Dadha is the founder of netmeds.com. The Startup has raised a total of $99M till date. The Startup is backed by OrbiMed, Tanncam Investment, Sistema Asia Capital, Daun Penh Cambodia Group, Tanncam Investment.

Zivame, a Bangalore based online lingerie startup founded by Richa Kar and Kapil Karekar. The Startup offers various category, brand, color, size and even choose lingerie of styles. Zivame has raised a total of $69M till date. Chiratee Ventures, Khazanah Nasional, Zodius Capital, The Allana Group, Trifecta Capital Advisors, Avendus Capital and Reliance Brands have invested in Zivame.
