Mitron APP – Short Video making app has raised $5M Funding

In India, short video making app like MitronTV, Trell, Chingari, ShareChat, Roposo and many other short video making apps are growing on a different level. Facebook-owned image-sharing app Instagram has launched a feature which is similar to TikTok, Reels is the new features of Instagram which allows people to record videos up to 15 seconds long and add popular music, as well as an array of filters and effects, over top of them.

Reels lets people create short-form videos set to music that can be shared with friends and followers and discovered while browsing the app. Instagram has launched this feature in more than 50 countries today, including the US, UK, Japan, and Australia.

MitronTV, an Indian short video making app which is alternative to famous Chinese app known as ‘TikTok’. The Startup was founded by Mr. Anish Khandelwal and Mr. Shivank Agarwal in 2019. The Social Network Startup is headquartered in Bangalore, India. Mitron app is available on Google Play Store & they’re having over 10 million downloads on Google Play Store.

MitronTV has been facing backlash even before Google removed the app from Play store after a Pakistan coding company, Qboxus, claimed Agarwal bought the source code of Tictic from them for $34 (roughly around Rs 2,500) and rebranded it as Mitron without making any customisations to the code. However, the duo countered this claim and said they bought the initial prototyping code from Envato marketplace, an Australian company, and not Qboxus.

MitronTV has raised a total of $5 million funding till date. The startup is backed by more than 10 Investor in Seed round funding. Nexus Venture Partners, Lets Venture, Amrish Rau, Deep Kalra, Radhika Ghai, Manish Vij, Anand Chandrasekaran, Harish Bahl, 3one4 Capital, Karan Bajwa are in the list of investors, who’ve invested in MitronTV for the growth and development. This Investment will help the startup to bring new innovation and development in their application, which will lead to reach new audience and it will also increase user engagement.
